SeeMeHired in the United Kingdom is seeking a caring Support Worker to understand the person’s goals, routines and what independence means for them.
You’ll assist with daily living skills, personal care, finances, and staying engaged in the community, while maintaining boundaries, recording incidents, and ensuring dignity. No formal qualifications are required; we will train you and support NISCC registration.
You'll get to know the person you're supporting properly: their goals, their routines, what independence looks like for them. From there, you'll support them with everything from daily living skills and personal care, to getting out into their community, keeping in touch with the people who matter to them, and speaking up for themselves.
If you're looking for work that means something, makes a real difference to people, every day, and you've got the patience and values this role needs,.
As a Support Worker, you'll form a positive relationship with the person you support, always maintaining appropriate professional boundaries with them and their families. You'll help them look after their home, manage their money and medication as independently as possible, and get the right support from other services when they need it, whether that's a GP, a social worker, or an advocate. You'll support people to stay safe and healthy in every part of their life, including personal care where it's needed, always treating people with dignity and respect. You'll help them get out into their community, stay connected to the people who matter to them, and speak up for themselves, seeking advocacy support where it's needed rather than deciding things for them. You'll also act as a role model for other staff and volunteers, sharing what you learn and helping new colleagues find their feet. Accurate record keeping (incidents, risk assessments, communication logs) is part of the job too, using our usual digital systems.
Join Positive Futures as a Support Worker and help people with a learning disability, acquired brain injury or autism to live independently, and to have real choice and control over their own lives. You don't need formal qualifications or experience for this role, just kindness, patience, and a sense of fun.
If you can bring warmth, reliability and genuine respect for people's right to choose their own life, this is a role where that really counts.
