Job summary

Thornfield Grange in Bishop Auckland is recruiting a Support Worker to help adults with learning disabilities and autism. You will work 42 hours per week across day and night shifts, including every other weekend, providing daily living support, personal care on occasion, and community activities.

We are looking for confident Support Workers with a passion for delivering outstanding care.

You'll be working 42 hours a week in Thornfield Grange with Adults with Learning Disabilities and Autism along with behaviours that challenge.

Working shifts of 7.45am to 8pm and 7.45pm to 8am, inhouse meals are provided and paid handovers. This role involves working every other weekend.

Thornfield Grange is a specialist residential service with nursing for adults with autism, learning disabilities and complex needs. Based in Bishop Auckland, County Durham, Thornfield Grange supports individuals who have behaviours that may challenge, as well as those who have significant difficulties with social engagement.

The role involves supporting adults with all aspects of daily life, including on occasion personal care. Accessing the community regular and taking service users on holidays and driving responsibilities.

Your Day-to-Day

• Offer enhanced care with a flexible learning approach for all our service users, patients & residents
• Provide guidance and encouragement through physical & emotional support
• Learn about individuals' specific needs & provide help in the most appropriate way
• Assist with medical & welfare needs and report as required
