Manual License Required

On average, our starting salary for a support worker is £25,812 per year (based on a 35-hour week and including one sleep-in per week at £60 per night). Working an additional 6 hours per week (41 hours) increases the annual salary to £29,844 (including holiday allowance). Many experienced workers earn over £30,000 annually by picking up overtime.

Shift: 3-week rolling rota including earlies, lates, and long days.

Meet The Team

Our Beaver Lane site offers superb residential accommodation for 5 autistic adults, including self-contained flats and shared communal spaces. Our tenants enjoy activities like visiting local places, gardening, walks, BBQs, music, creative pursuits, and socializing with the service chickens. The team is animal-loving, friendly, and eager to welcome new colleagues.

If you are positive, forward-thinking, and compassionate (don't worry if you're not animal crazy at first), we would love to hear from you.

Tasks / Responsibilities of a Support Worker

  • Drive a mobility car or service vehicle. Manual License required (ESSENTIAL)
  • Support individuals with behaviors such as stress, self-harm, aggression, property damage, etc.
  • Assist with community activities like biking, walks, shopping
  • Administer medication
  • Assist with personal care and hygiene
  • Be confident in lone working
  • Handle household tasks including cooking and cleaning
  • Maintain privacy, confidentiality, and dignity
  • Manage money for shopping and banking
  • Support individuals with additional needs (epilepsy, pica, learning disabilities)
  • Build good relationships with staff across services
  • Maintain accurate written records
