Job summary

Dimensions is recruiting for a Support Worker in Acle, Norfolk. The role is permanent with full/part-time and relief options. You will support a man in his 60s with profound learning disability and cerebral palsy, using eye contact and visual cues for communication.

A full UK manual driving licence is essential to accompany him in the community. Shifts include late, long days, sleep-ins, weekends and bank holidays; 37.5 hours per week with a competitive hourly rate.

We are recruiting for a number of Support Worker opportunities within our Acle home, supporting a gentleman in his 60s who lives independently. He has a profound learning disability and cerebral palsy and communicates using eye contact, facial expressions, smiles, and visual choices. He enjoys spending time with others and has a passion for tractors, music (particularly brass bands), puzzles, people-watching, and getting out and about in the town.

This is a varied and rewarding role where you'll provide person centred support tailored to the individual's preferences, routines, and aspirations. You'll support with daily living tasks, personal care, medication, PEG feeding, moving and assisting, and enabling him to enjoy the hobbies he loves. You'll work closely as part of a supportive team and receive full training, including specialist training for health related support needs.

Shifts across our vacancies include a mixture of late shifts (3pm to 10pm), long days, sleep-ins, weekends and bank holidays, with both full-time and part-time opportunities available.

About You

Working closely with colleagues, you'll be a strong team player who values collaboration, particularly when providing support with moving and assisting and complex health needs. Above all, you'll bring a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to making every day meaningful for the person you support.

A full UK driving licence is essential, and you must be confident driving a manual vehicle, as you'll use the gentleman's car to support him to access the community, attend appointments, and enjoy the things that matter most to him. You do not need your own vehicle for this role.
