Position: Band 4 Support Time & Recovery Worker
Location: Gloucestershire Criminal Justice Liaison & Diversion Service, Montpellier Unit at Wotton Lawn, Gloucester
Role Overview: This is an exciting opportunity to join our long-established team covering all areas of the Criminal Justice Services in Gloucestershire. We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to support the team and develop the service to meet the Specification laid out by NHS England.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist service users to access services addressing health vulnerabilities leading to improvements in their health and wellbeing.
2. Provide help and advice on housing, drug and alcohol support, education, debt management, employment issues, and access to Primary Care.
3. Manage a caseload of clients, supporting and encouraging their engagement with services.
4. Develop links with other agencies to enable improved access to services.
5. Work in various settings including custody suites, courts, prisons, and community locations.
6. Support individuals leaving prison and assist their integration back into the community.
7. Attend and actively participate in team meetings, training sessions, and supervision.
8. Ensure accurate data recording by senior clinicians and submit data sets to NHS England each month.
9. Contribute to mental health assessments and care pathways for individuals identified with potential mental health vulnerabilities.
10. Liaise with Criminal Justice Mental Health practitioners and external agencies for assessment and short-term care planning.
11. Network with health and social care agencies to identify and develop a database of local resources.
12. Communicate complex and sensitive information where persuasive skills are required.
13. Promote independent living and develop a rapport with service users.
14. Provide support with daily living by agreeing on a support action plan with service users.
15. Identify early signs of relapse and alert appropriate staff involved in the client's care.
16. Maintain adequate records as required by existing procedures.
17. Participate in the review and evaluation of the service provided.

Qualifications and Experience:

1. Experience or knowledge of working with individuals in contact with the criminal justice system.
2. Experience in Adult Mental Health, Substance Misuse, or Alcohol Services, Housing, and Benefits Agency is ideal.
3. Willingness to work within a challenging environment and with multiple criminal justice agencies.
4. Part of a team working to improve the experience of service users presenting with health inequalities and vulnerabilities.

The candidate will be required to undergo successful police vetting.
