Job summary

Powys Teaching Health Board is seeking a part-time Support Services Assistant in the Domestic team at Ystradgynlais Hospital. You will help deliver cleaning and facilities services, work as part of a team or on your own, and support training as needed.

Welsh speakers are welcomed, though anyone can apply and training will be provided. The role requires flexibility, reliability and a commitment to patient and staff well-being.

Qualifications

• Literacy and numeracy level 1 required.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Commitment to delivering clean and safe domestic services.
• Disclosure and Barring Service check required.

Responsibilities

• Support domestic services, cleaning and facilities activities to meet agreed standards.

We require caring and enthusiastic individuals to work part time as Support Services Assistant within the Domestic team.

This post will be based at Ystradgynlais Hospital.

You will need to be self-motivated, have a flexible approach to work, able to work as part of a team and have the ability to work on your own initiative.

There will be the expectation, when required, to clean in other departments.

Previous experience is an advantage, but not essential, as full training will be given

Main duties of the job

You will support the local delivery of hotel services domestic and associated facilities activities, ensuring that they are delivered at the levels agreed and that they meet with full compliance with all appropriate legislation and local policies and procedures. You will need to be self-motivated, have a flexible approach to work, be able to work as part of a team and have the ability to work on your own initiative. Previous experience is an advantage, but not essential, as full training will be given.

We would particularly welcome applications from Welsh speakers; but even if you don't speak any Welsh, or want to develop your skills, don't worry: the health board will support you with training.

Person Specification

Experience

• To have gained sufficient experience in the cleaning industry to be able to demonstrate an understanding of safe working practices and techniques that would meet the requirements within this role.

Aptitude and Ability

• To be able to perform independently or as part of a team whilst demonstrating the values and behaviours expected of the organisation.
• To be able to follow instructions and organise own work to meet the team objectives, adapting work to meet any changing priorities which may need to meet tight timeframes.
• Some ability to speak, read and/or write Welsh, or an eagerness to learn.
