Job description

We are looking to recruit a full-time waken night responder to join our Inverness service.

You will be provided with full training by our excellent and award-winning learning & development team prior to starting. This training consists of classroom-based sessions and e-learning, as well as the opportunity to shadow current Support Practitioners in their day-to-day role and meet the people you will be supporting.

About the Role:

Your responsibilities as a Support Practitioner could include:

  • Providing overnight support to an identified group of people with learning disabilities, autism, or mental health diagnoses to ensure their safety and well-being across various locations in Inverness;
  • Carrying out planned responsive night support to adults with a learning disability and/or mental health diagnosis;
  • Responding promptly to alerts that an identified client needs support;
  • Monitoring and using technological aids to meet people’s support needs;
  • Responding to individuals displaying challenging behavior;
  • Responding to people experiencing mental health distress;
  • Administering medication and managing risk;
  • Monitoring and reporting any changes in physical or mental health;
  • Ensuring identified clients’ nighttime and morning routines are followed;
  • Meeting personal care needs related to continence;
  • Enabling nighttime routines and ensuring those who go to bed late are settled;
  • Recognizing and solving problems before they escalate;
  • Using your own initiative and experience to problem-solve.
