What if your job wasn't just about getting through the day — but about helping someone live their best life? We're looking for females* who are either starting out, changing careers, or looking for something flexible - we've got part-time (30 hours per week) roles waiting for you in Dumbarton. Forget sitting behind a desk doing the same thing every day. As a Support Practitioner, you'll be part of people's everyday lives and help them do the things that are important to them.
It's the little moments that can make the biggest difference. You'll be there to encourage, support and empower people— not to do everything for them. Your role is to help people build confidence, develop independence and have the freedom to make their own choices.
Never worked in social care before? That's okay. You don't need to have all the answers. We'll give you the training, support and confidence you need to become great at your role. You'll be paid while you train, have access to funded, recognised qualifications, and have a team around you every step of the way.
Can you drive? Great — but it's not essential. A full UK manual driving licence with at least one year's driving experience would be beneficial for this role, but it's not a deal-breaker for the right person.
Our teams provide support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Shifts will fall between the hours of 9am and 6pm (there may be later finishing times depending on the needs of the people we support). Patterns include:
Sleepover shifts don’t count towards your weekly hours, you’ll receive an additional payment of £107.60 for every sleepover worked - giving you the opportunity to earn extra alongside your contracted hours.
Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy. If you’re successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us. Please note - If you have spent more than 12 months out with the UK (excluding France, Germany. Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre-employment checks.
