Job summary

Highland Home Carers is seeking a kind, patient Support Practitioner to help a non-verbal young man with a learning disability enjoy local community activities. This part-time role involves supporting him to access activities in and around the community, in a safe and supportive environment.

Activities include walks, train/bus trips, swimming, visiting cafes and trips out, plus attending a local day centre. Prior health/social care experience is beneficial, and full training is provided.

Qualifications

• Care experience is beneficial for health and social care roles.
• Ability to support someone with a learning disability in community activities.
• A patient, compassionate, and reliable approach is required.

Responsibilities

• Support local community access in a safe, positive manner.
• Assist with activities such as walks, train/bus trips and swimming.
• Take part in visits to cafes and community venues.
• Help the individual attend a local day centre.
