Job summary

Cornerstone is hiring to support individuals with physical and learning disabilities in Stonehaven, Scotland. You will help with daily activities, meals, and community outings, in a warm, caring team setting.

No experience is needed as we provide funded training and qualifications as you work, with shifts including early, backshifts and sleepovers in a supportive environment. You’ll join a friendly team with opportunities for progression.

Qualifications

  • No prior experience required; training will be provided and ongoing.
  • Must be willing to learn and try new things in a supportive environment.
  • Confident using computers and tablets for everyday tasks and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Support individuals with physical and learning disabilities at home and in the community.
  • Assist with cooking, daily routines, arts, crafts, gardening and outings.
  • Travel between services as shifts require and participate in group activities.
  • Attend and complete SVQ training with support from our Training Academy.

Shift Patterns

As we're dedicated to providing the best support possible shift patterns will usually fall into patterns early shifts and backshifts. Sleepovers, public holidays and weekends would be a requirement on a rotational basis.

Sleepovers are not included in your contracted hours and you'll receive an additional sleepover payment of £107.60 per sleepover shift worked.

If you don't live in the Stonehaven area and are not a driver, we will need you to be mindful of the location of our services and be confident that you can travel for your shifts as there are limited public transport links available that fit with all of our shift patterns.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy.

If you're successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.

If you have spent more than 12 months out with the UK (excluding France, Germany. Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre-employment checks.
