Job description

Looking for a job where you can really make a difference?

Join our amazing #TeamDrum in Dunfermline as a Support Practitioner. We have permanent contracts of 16 or 20 hours per week and relief options available if you're looking for something a bit more flexible.

Don't have experience? Don't worry! If you're caring, compassionate and willing to learn, we'll provide all the training and support you need.

Meet your future team

You'll become part of a warm, supportive team providing support for four incredible ladies with profound and complex needs in their shared home.

This is so much more than a job, it's about building meaningful relationships, celebrating achievements (big & small), supporting independence, creating memorable experiences.

Whether you're supporting one of the ladies to prepare a meal, achieve a personal goal, enjoy a favourite activity, or simply feel heard and understood, you'll play an important part in helping them live a full and valued life. From arts and crafts sessions to days out and even alpaca visits, watching rugby and grand prix; no two days are ever the same.

The ladies communicate in different ways and will take time to get to build trust, but the connections you'll form makes this one of the most rewarding roles you could ever have.

Why you'll love this job
  • Make a real difference in people's lives every day
  • Build genuine, meaningful relationships
  • Be part of a supportive and welcoming team
  • Bring your own personality to work and be yourself
  • Access to opportunities for development
We're looking for people who are
  • Caring, patient and compassionate
  • Positive, reliable and keen to learn
  • Good communicators who enjoy working as part of a team
  • Organised and confident using basic computer systems

A full UK manual driving licence would be beneficial, as the ladies have access to their own mobility vehicles, but this is not essential.

Shift patterns

Our priority is making sure that the people we support receive consistent, high-quality support, so shifts will generally include early shifts and back shifts, with weekends, public holidays, waking nights and sleepovers worked on a rotational basis.

Our sleepovers are separate from your contracted hours, so you'll receive an additional payment of £107.60 for every sleepover you work - giving you the opportunity to earn extra alongside your contracted hours.

Shift patterns may vary depending on the needs of the ladies we support and planned activities.

Why choose Cornerstone?

At Cornerstone, you're not just joining a team, you're joining an organisation that values and invests in you.

Our benefits include
  • 30 days annual leave (26 days plus 4 public holidays), increasing with service
  • Fully funded PVG and SSSC registration fees
  • Up to £500 contribution towards driving lessons
  • Funded qualifications through our award-winning Training Academy
  • Ongoing learning, development and career progression opportunities
  • Colleague referral bonus scheme
  • Long service awards
  • Employee Assistance Programme available 24/7
  • Family-friendly leave policies
  • Discounts on shopping, cinema tickets, gym memberships, holidays and more
  • Casual dress - no uniform required

Please note: We may close this vacancy early if suitable candidates are identified, so early applications are encouraged.

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy.

Please note - If you have spent more than 12 months out with the UK (excluding France, Germany. Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre-employment checks.

If you're successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.
