Job overview

We are seeking an Administration Support Officer for Safeguarding & Public Protection. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the DoLS team.

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, with excellent organizational and communication skills, able to work in a challenging environment with a sensitive, caring, and non-judgmental attitude.

The role requires flexibility to work across the service and previous experience in a multiagency setting is desirable.

Proficiency in Welsh is desirable; applications in either Welsh or English are equally welcome.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will support the Safeguarding & Public Protection Team by providing comprehensive administrative support, maintaining databases, and ensuring information accuracy.

They will work flexibly to support team needs and assist colleagues as required.

The post holder will:

  • Be the first point of contact for calls from the public, staff, and partner agencies, handling sensitive information with tact and confidentiality.
  • Respond to routine queries and escalate complex issues appropriately.
  • Provide administrative support to ensure smooth team operations.
  • Manage workload priorities and adapt as needed.
  • Accurately input data into databases and spreadsheets, ensuring timely updates.
  • Assist in data collection for reports.
  • Support training coordination, including venue bookings and information dissemination.
  • Manage the team’s diary, including meeting arrangements and minute-taking.
  • Work proactively with minimal supervision.
