Support Engineer - Amazon Payment Merchant Category Team

Amazon Payment Merchant Category team at Amazon India Development Center, Bangalore, is seeking a Support Engineer to help scale and develop the next generation of the Merchant Categories platform and product. This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a team responsible for building a successful, sustainable, and strategic business for Amazon from the ground up.

You will have the opportunity to code on key pages of the new Payments stack, focusing on building features and enhancing business metrics. The team will work with diverse technologies, including SOA, UI frameworks, big data, and Generative AI.

The ideal candidate will influence product development and be actively involved in defining key features that impact the business. You will contribute to the design and implementation of team-owned products and maintain high software quality standards within a highly technical team of Software Engineers.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with senior engineers to design, implement, and deploy applications impacting Amazon.in's Mobile, Payments, and e-Commerce platforms.
  2. Take ownership of delivering critical system components or applications.
  3. Manage project plans and ensure timely delivery.
  4. Assist in hiring and developing technical talent.
  5. Create and execute quality plans, test strategies, and development processes aligned with business and project goals.
  6. Balance technical leadership with business judgment to make informed technology decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Basic Qualifications
  • 1+ years of software development or technical support experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems.
  • Proficiency in scripting with modern programming languages.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of computer science fundamentals such as object-oriented design, operating systems, algorithms, data structures, and complexity analysis.
