Support Engineer - Amazon Payment Merchant Category Team

Amazon Payment Merchant Category team at Amazon India Development Center, Bangalore is looking for a Support Engineer to help scale and build the next generation of Payments platform and product from the ground up. This is a rare opportunity to be part of a team responsible for building a successful, sustainable, and strategic business for Amazon.

You will have the opportunity to code on key pages of the new Payments stack, building features and improving business metrics. The team will work on diverse technologies including SOA, UI frameworks, big data, and Gen AI.

The candidate will help shape the product and define key features that impact the business. You will evolve the design and implementation of team-owned products and maintain a high software quality standard in a highly technical environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with senior engineers to design, implement, and deploy applications impacting Amazon.in, focusing on Mobile, Payments, and e-Commerce development.
  2. Own delivery of critical system components or applications.
  3. Manage and execute project plans and delivery commitments.
  4. Assist in hiring and developing technical talent.
  5. Create and execute quality plans, project plans, and testing strategies aligned with business goals.
  6. Operate independently in a fast-paced environment, balancing technical leadership with business judgment.
Basic Qualifications
  • 1+ years of software development or technical support experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting and debugging systems.
  • Experience scripting in modern programming languages.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of computer science fundamentals such as object-oriented design, operating systems, algorithms, data structures, and complexity analysis.
