Support Worker - Choppington
Are you compassionate with a desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others?
Lifeways – Specialist Support Services serving your local community
Are you seeking a career that transforms lives for the better? Do you have a passion for making a real difference in your local community? Lifeways offers genuine career progression and investment in recognised qualifications. We are the UK’s largest supported living healthcare provider and have been proudly supporting communities since 1995.
The Lifeways Group in Choppington is currently looking to expand its team of Support Workers in our local residential services.
The property has been split into two separate bungalows, joined by a corridor and sharing a utility room. Flax One has five bedrooms, and Flax Two has four. Both bungalows have one bathroom with a shower over a high-low bath, overhead tracking, and an accessible toilet.
Flax One features a kitchen, an open-plan dining and living room, and an accessible toilet. Flax Two includes a kitchen, dining room, living room, laundry room, and an accessible toilet.
Flax Cottages also have two accessible gardens with patios—one for each bungalow. Residents enjoy outdoor activities when the weather permits and often gather for BBQs. Assistive technology can be tailored to each individual's needs. The property has level access, and Flax One has widened doors for wheelchair accessibility.
We are looking for either enthusiastic individuals with patience seeking a career change to bring new life and experiences into our service or experienced Support Workers with a background in complex emotional or behavioural settings looking for a change. You will be part of a team making a difference for two young people with complex needs, providing them with new opportunities both at home and in the community.
You will receive a fully paid induction, ongoing training, support from a dedicated manager, and the opportunity to undertake a funded qualification in health and social care, among other benefits.
Our support is based on person-centred principles, enabling development and inclusion in daily life within their home and the wider community. Each service user has their own self-contained room, and your work will include supporting activities such as swimming, shopping, social outings, and visits to zoos and clubs.
You will assist with household chores like cooking, laundry, vacuuming, and dusting, and in some cases, personal care tasks such as bathing, toileting, and feeding.
