We particularly welcome applicants from minority ethnic, LGBT+, disabled and neurodiverse communities to make a real difference to our residents so that equity and respect remains at the heart of everything we do.

Our Values are:

  • Open and fair: We are fair, open, and transparent.
  • Nurture and develop: We help and encourage everyone to be their best and do their best.
  • Engage and empower: We talk and listen to others, working together as one.
  • Create and innovate: We embrace new ways of working to continuously improve.

  • Value and respect: We put diversity and inclusion at the heart of all we do.

We value diverse perspectives and experiences and are striving to create a workplace culture that is inclusive, is accepting of all and is free from discrimination and bias.

We have a simple vision and strategy that defines what we are trying to achieve, our purpose and our approach which underpin the principles of Adult Social Care, and we continue to work in support of this.

In a simple sense all our work, at whatever level should continue to support the strategy of: ‘Providing support, in the least intrusive manner possible, based on the assets, resources and abilities that are available to people’.

What is the job role?

Make a Difference in a Unique Farm-Based Environment

Are you passionate about supporting people to live fulfilling, meaningful lives? Do you enjoy working outdoors and want a role where no two days are the same?

We are looking for caring, enthusiastic and motivated Support Assistants to join our specialist day service based on a beautiful rural farm.

Our service supports adults with Autism, Learning Disabilities and complex needs who may find mainstream community settings challenging. We provide a calm, therapeutic environment where people are supported on a 1:1 basis or in small groups to build confidence, independence, life skills and emotional wellbeing.

Our farm offers a unique setting with sheep, goats and ponies, alongside large gardens where we grow produce throughout the year. Every day provides opportunities for meaningful activities that promote learning, wellbeing and achievement.

What will you do?

As a Support Assistant, you'll play a vital role in helping people achieve their goals while promoting choice, independence and dignity. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing person-centred support tailored to each individual's needs.
  • Supporting people to take part in meaningful farm and outdoor activities, animal care and gardening.
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and emotional wellbeing.
  • Supporting with personal care where required.
  • Administering medication following policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining accurate records and reporting any concerns.
  • Supporting people to access community activities where appropriate.
  • Working closely with families, carers and other professionals.
  • Promoting a safe, positive and inclusive environment.
  • Working as part of a supportive team and participating in training and development.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

All candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK. We are currently not offering sponsorship for this role.
