Midlothian Council is seeking a Senior Support Assistant in Dalkeith to provide clerical support within the Children, Young People & Partnerships directorate. Evidence of competency in literacy and numeracy skills such as a minimum of three standard grades level 3 passes or above to include Mathematics and English or equivalent is essential. (SVQ 2 or equivalent is an acceptable alternative). Some practical experience or demonstration of competency in the use of word processing and standard PC software packages is also essential.
To be competent in the role the Jobholder must have good interpersonal skills and knowledge of the various systems and software including Microsoft packages. S/he must also have previous experience of working to strict deadlines, co-ordinating and completing multiple tasks.
Please note that it is Midlothian Council's policy that successful applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale.
Based on 36 hours over 52 weeks per year, the minimum actual salary for this position is £29,181.58 per annum.
This role requires Level 1 Disclosure Clearance. The fee for this Disclosure check will be met by you and receipt of the subsequent certificate will be required prior to commencement.
