Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our award-winning specialist school in Reigate. You will support students on the autism spectrum, helping them access learning in a nurturing, inclusive environment.

The role requires a willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check and, ideally, driving. The successful candidate will typically have 3–6 months' experience with SEN or transferable care skills, with hours 8:30–4:30 (salary £88-£93 per day).

Qualifications

• Experience working with SEN pupils or transferable skills from care or support work.
• Enhanced DBS check on Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Understanding of autism and related disabilities.
• Driving is preferred; close to public transport options is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support students on the spectrum with high-functioning autism in class activities.
• Assist lead teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management.
• Monitor student progress and behaviour, ensuring safety and inclusion.
• Provide small-group or 1:1 support to help access learning objectives.
