Job summary

Vision for Education Ltd in Harrogate is seeking a Specialist SEND teacher to deliver an individualized curriculum within a specialist provision. The role suits Primary SEND or Early Years trained practitioners with a passion for SEND, across full-time, part-time or supply arrangements.

You will work with pupils with a range of SEND including SLD, PMLD and ASC, requiring a calm, resilient and positive approach.

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher with demonstrable SEND experience.
• Experience supporting SEND learners to achieve to the best of their ability in mainstream or specialist settings.
• Ability to teach across the curriculum following a primary nurture model.
• Ideally familiar with AAC such as PECs and Makaton.
• Calm, positive, professional communication with learners, parents and colleagues.

Special Educational Needs Teacher - Harrogate Area

£140 - £200 per day depending on experience, assignment duration, training and qualifications
Immediate opportunities - full / part time / short and long term requirements

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: QTS and suitability to work with learners within complex SEND, potentially including PMLD, SLD, ASC needs.

The School and Role

We are seeking skilled professionals able to deliver a highly individualised and bespoke curriculum within specialist provision. Typically, teachers will be Primary, SEND or Early Years trained, with a specific interest in, and ideally, experience of specialist provision . Vision offer a range of full time, part time and ad hoc supply work across SEND schools.

Specialist settings catering to pupils with a broad range of SEND including SLD, PMLD, Learning and Sensory Needs, Neurodiversity, Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs. Working within SEND can be physically and emotionally challenging. Successful working requires a calm, resilient and positive demeanour.

Requirements

To be considered for the Supply Teacher – Special Educational Needs position, you will:

• Be a qualified teacher
• Have demonstrable experience of supporting SEND learners to achieve to the best of their ability within a mainstream or Special Needs setting
• Have the ability to teach across the curriculum following a primary nurture model
• Ideally to have used AAC such as PECs and Makaton
• Be an effective, skilled and confident teacher with high standards and aspirations for young people
• A calm, positive professional in tune with all forms of communication – verbal and non-verbal
