Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Saltash is seeking a flexible Supply Teacher for day-to-day cover in primary settings within the St Barnabas MAT. You will deliver pre-planned lessons, manage behaviour, and support learners across various year groups.

The ideal candidate holds Qualified Teacher Status, understands safeguarding, and can adapt to different schools, subjects, and pupil needs while maintaining high standards of learning and safety.

Qualifications

• Has obtained and maintained Qualified Teacher Status.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and approach to keeping children safe in education.
• Experience delivering lessons across primary year groups in different schools.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons in accordance with the school's curriculum and policies.
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively, maintaining a safe and productive learning environment.
• Adapt teaching approaches to meet the diverse learning needs of pupils, including those with SEND and EAL needs.
• Assess and monitor pupil engagement and progress during lessons.
• Provide clear feedback and handover notes to the class teacher at the end of each assignment.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents while representing the school professionally.
• Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies at all times.
• Support school activities and contribute positively to the wider school community when required.
• Demonstrate flexibility by teaching across different year groups and subjects as needed.

Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm
Contract: day to day

We are currently looking for an adaptable and enthusiastic Supply Teacher with experience delivering high-quality teaching across primary school settings within the St Barnabas MAT on a full time basis. Skilled in maintaining effective classroom management, delivering engaging lessons across a range of subjects and year groups, and ensuring continuity of learning in the absence of the regular class teacher. This job would be best suited to someone committed to creating a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that enables all pupils to achieve their full potential.

The Role
