Job description

As part of the general Supply Teaching Pool, you will provide high-quality learning and teaching where cover is required within Stirling Council Schools and Educational Establishments.

Job Description

Responsibilities include:

  1. Teaching assigned classes along with associated preparation and assessment of children’s work.
  2. Assisting in developing the school curriculum, including assessments and preparing pupils for examinations, where appropriate.
  3. Participating in activities related to school planning, raising attainment, monitoring, and tracking pupils' progress, and conducting individual reviews.
  4. Providing advice and guidance to pupils on educational issues, working in partnership with parents, support staff, and other professionals.
  5. Contributing to the good order and wider needs of the school.
Qualifications and Requirements

The successful candidate will undertake essential training, possess a relevant teaching qualification, and be registered with GTC Scotland. Excellent interpersonal skills, sound classroom practice, and good knowledge of Curriculum for Excellence and National Qualifications are required.

All teachers, other than probationers, registered with GTC Scotland and appointed to Stirling Council establishments will be placed on point 1 of the Main Grade Salary Scale or higher, as determined. Probationers are placed on Point 0 until they achieve full registration.
