Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking enthusiastic Primary Supply Teachers to join a network of welcoming schools in Chelmsford, Essex. Opportunities range from day-to-day to short-term and long-term placements with competitive £130–£180 daily rates and PAYE payroll.

Qualified teachers with QTS (or ECT) will deliver lessons across EYFS, KS1 or KS2, maintain behavior, and support pupil progress in the absence of the class teacher. Start date September 2026.

Qualifications

• QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or be an Early Career Teacher (ECT)
• Experience teaching within a UK Primary School
• Strong knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
• The ability to adapt quickly to different school environments
• A positive, enthusiastic and flexible approach to teaching

Responsibilities

• The successful Primary Supply Teacher will deliver pre-planned lessons, maintain high standards of behaviour, create an engaging learning environment, and ensure pupils progress in the absence of their class teacher.
