Supply Planner
Key Purpose
Managing the end-to-end supply planning of third-party wines and spirits. This role ensures optimal inventory levels, timely purchase ordering, and efficient stock movement to meet customer demand and peak trading periods. The position involves continuous process improvement, proactive issue resolution, and close coordination with vendors and warehouses to maintain high service levels and operational efficiency.
Key Accountabilities
- Product Portfolio Planning: Plan a portfolio of Wines and Spirits to meet and exceed agreed Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets.
- Inventory Management: Manage current and projected inventory levels to ensure good stock availability and adherence to storage capacities. Plan medium to long-term stock builds for peak periods (Christmas, Easter, bank holidays, etc.). Proactively manage stock outs and service level issues to minimize business impact.
- Purchase Order Generation: Generate Purchase Orders (POs) based on lead times, delivery parameters, and ordering requirements (MOQs).
- Inter-Depot Delivery Scheduling: Propose and verify delivery schedules for inter-depot movements on a daily/weekly basis.
- Depot Relationship Management: Maintain strong relationships with depots to minimize costs and ensure service levels are met.
- Product Quality Management: Address product quality concerns with suppliers, drive corrective actions, and manage the claims process.
- Supply Constraints Communication: Clearly communicate supply constraints and root causes, enabling effective decision-making for resolutions.
- SKU Delisting Management: Identify and recommend SKUs for delisting due to complexity, stock risks, or MOQ issues.
- Process Improvement: Recommend and implement improvements to the replenishment process.
- Slow-Moving Stock and Shelf-Life Management: Monitor stock levels, flag slow movers, and manage shelf-life issues.
- Warehouse Liaison: Liaise with warehouses to schedule the delivery of products.
- Invoice Query Resolution: Resolve invoice queries promptly to ensure timely payments to vendors.
Experience Required
- Preferably experienced in supply planning, sales, or operational planning within a Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) environment.
- Advanced Excel skills for data reporting, analysis, and modelling.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify patterns, connect trends, and derive actionable insights.
- Familiarity with MRP systems, ideally SAP.
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all aspects of planning and reporting.

- Process-Oriented Mindset: Continuously looks for opportunities to streamline and improve supply chain and replenishment processes.
- Systems Proficiency: Comfortable working with MRP systems (e.g., SAP) and advanced Excel tools for forecasting, order management, and reporting.
