Job summary

Willow Tree Nursery School in the Tendring area is seeking an Early Years Educator to provide cover for children as needed and to deliver engaging activities within the EYFS framework. This role offers full-time, Monday to Friday work with permanent terms and a pay rate up to £13.30 per hour, dependent on qualifications and experience.

You will work with children under the age of five, promoting curiosity and learning in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Full and relevant Level 2 or above qualification in early years.
• EYFS knowledge desirable.
• Experience with children under 5 is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide cover for children during holidays, sickness or vacancies.
• Deliver planned activities and adapt as needed.
• Support learning and development within the EYFS framework.

How You’ll Spend Your Time Here

You’ll be helping to provide cover for the children as and when needed. This could be for periods of holiday, sickness, or even vacancy gaps. Sometimes you'll support for a full day, or it may just be a morning or afternoon session.

You’ll likely start most of your days with a fully formulated plan.... That will soon get completely derailed though... Pivoting when the circumstances call for it is a regular occurrence in child care!

Creativity is key. Teaching young children allows for hands on arts and crafts, storytelling, exercise, and educational games. It’s important to keep things fresh and try new activities to keep attention spans engaged. Of course we work within the EYFS standards, but that doesn't stop you from engaging your creative flair and enthusiasm for learning.

You’re unqualified, Level 2 or 3 Early Years Educator / Practitioner / Nursery Nurse or similar and you're looking for an Early Years Educator/Nursery Nurse/Early Years Practitioner role that allows you flexibility of working shifts around your other commitments.

You enjoy supporting and encouraging the natural curiosity and excitement of young children and was born to teach and shape the future of our younger generations.

You have a natural, nurturing, openness, a warm and positive outlook, and you care about learning and education standards in the UK.

What You’ll Need

• A full and relevant Level 2 or above qualification within early years. • Experience as an Early Years Educator (Nursery Nurse/Practitioner) or having worked with children under the age of 5, is advantageous
• Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS is desirable
