Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting a Supply Maths Teacher to support secondary schools across Gateshead and surrounding areas, starting in September. This role suits experienced teachers, ECTs or qualified teachers seeking flexible supply work within a supportive school environment.

You will help students progress, achieve and wellbeing, delivering Maths across KS3/KS4 and collaborating with colleagues to create a positive learning atmosphere.

Qualifications

  • Must hold QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience teaching Maths in a secondary school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of maths and a passion for the subject.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4.
  • Follow existing lesson plans and schemes of work where provided.
  • Support students to develop mathematical knowledge, understanding and problem solving.
  • Adapt activities to meet different abilities and learning needs.
  • Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment.
  • Manage behaviour effectively and maintain high expectations.
  • Help students build confidence and overcome barriers to learning.
  • Monitor student engagement and progress during lessons.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and the Maths department.
  • Provide feedback to staff after lessons when required.
  • Follow school policies and safeguarding procedures.

We're currently recruiting for a Supply Maths Teacher to support secondary schools across Gateshead and surrounding areas on a long or short-term basis, starting in September. This role could suit an experienced teacher, ECT or a qualified teacher looking for flexible supply work or a new opportunity within a supportive school environment.

This is a great opportunity for a Maths Teacher looking for flexibility while becoming a familiar face within local schools and building positive relationships with students and staff.

Your main responsibilities will include:

Requirements or Skills:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching Maths within a secondary school setting
  • Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for Mathematics
  • Experience teaching across KS3 and/or KS4
  • Confident classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Ability to quickly establish positive relationships with students and staff
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Adaptable and confident working across different school environments
  • A commitment to supporting student progress, achievement and wellbeing
  • ECTs and experienced teachers are welcome to apply
