Job description

Academics are currently looking for enthusiastic History Teachers to work in their client secondary schools and academies in Stoke-on-Trent & Newcastle-under-Lyme. Working as a flexible supply teacher is an ideal way to explore different schools before applying for a long-term or permanent position. Additionally, supply teaching is an excellent way for Early Career Teachers (ECTs) to boost their classroom experience and enhance their CV.

Requirements for History Teachers applying for short & long-term supply opportunities:

1. Hold the relevant teaching qualification (PGCE, B.Ed, or BA Hons) with UK Qualified Teaching Status (QTS/QTLS).
2. Have strong classroom and behaviour management skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff.
3. Deliver engaging and exciting History lessons, using your own initiative, with good knowledge of the UK national curriculum.
4. Be willing to travel to our partnership schools in Stoke-on-Trent & Newcastle-under-Lyme by 8:30 am, sometimes with only 30-60 minutes' notice for on-the-day supply.
5. Hold a current Enhanced DBS registered with the Update Service, or be prepared to apply for a new Enhanced DBS through us (cost applicable).

Your daily rate will depend on your experience, qualifications, the supply requirement (short or long-term), and the current client rate.
