Job description

Framatome Ltd's delivery organization is structured into 3 Business Lines: New Build Projects, Engineering Projects, and Existing Fleet Services.

Quality and Nuclear Safety are paramount to Framatome in the UK and globally. Safety is our overarching value, and Quality is integral to our nuclear safety culture, driving our operations and being at the core of our customers' business.

The role of the QHSE Supplier Auditor is to ensure compliance with Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) standards within the nuclear industry supply chain. This involves conducting supplier audits aligned with ISO standards and UK regulatory requirements, considering the scope of supply, the Project Quality Management Plan (PQMP), and/or the General Quality Assurance Specification (GQAS) to ensure suppliers meet contractual and industry obligations.

The auditing activity will support the supply chain process in onboarding new suppliers and ensure compliance with standards and project requirements during the contract phase.

Profile

Supplier Audits & Compliance

  • Plan and execute supplier audits in accordance with ISO regulations, including ISO 9001 (Quality Management), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), and ISO 19443 (Quality Management for Nuclear Suppliers).
  • Ensure compliance with relevant UK nuclear and safety regulations (e.g., ONR guidance, UK Nuclear Site Licence Conditions).
  • Assess supplier quality management systems, environmental policies, and health & safety procedures, aligning with ISO standards and project-specific requirements in relation to the scope of supply and specific project documentation.
  • Evaluate supplier manufacturing, inspection, testing, and material traceability processes based on contractual scope and UK nuclear safety standards.
  • Verify supplier compliance with nuclear-specific documentation and record best practices.
  • Manage project-specific quality and risk assessments.
  • Prepare reports and promote continuous improvement.

Required Attributes:

  • Proven experience as a QHSE Auditor or Supplier Quality Auditor in the nuclear industry or another highly regulated sector (e.g., aerospace, defense, energy).
  • Strong knowledge of UK nuclear quality assurance and safety standards (e.g., ISO 19443, ONR guidance, Nuclear Site Licence Conditions).
  • Experience conducting audits against ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001, with the ability to integrate project-specific quality requirements.
  • Familiarity with supply chain risk management in safety-critical industries.
  • Ability to interpret and audit technical documentation, including PQMP, GQAS, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent report writing, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Lead Auditor qualification in ISO 9001 is required.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for supplier audits.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in highly regulated industries; nuclear industry experience is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of nuclear safety culture attributes.
  • Demonstrable field engagement experience (sites and workshops).
  • Knowledge of performance management and root cause analysis techniques (e.g., FMEA, 5 Whys, LEAN, Six Sigma).
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Security clearance or eligibility to obtain clearance for UK nuclear projects.
