Job summary

Ips in St Helens is seeking a Supply Chain Planner to join a busy team on a full-time permanent basis. You will manage stock for production, coordinate with customers and suppliers, and ensure on-time delivery while maintaining system data (SAP/Oracle).

The role requires experience in MRP, planning and logistics, along with strong Excel skills and a proactive, customer-focused approach. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8am–4pm, with a salary of £32,000–£36,000 per year.

Qualifications

  • Experience in stock management and MRP planning.
  • Administrative experience in a fast-paced customer-driven environment.
  • Proven knowledge of running MRP, planning, logistics and production supply.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, with a positive attitude.
  • Proactive and adaptable approach with the ability to work using own initiative.
  • PC literate with MS Excel and attention to detail.
  • Strong focus on high customer service standards.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and order stock of ingredients and packaging to meet production needs.
  • Expedite and delay orders as required.
  • Communicate with customers about issues and manage expectations.
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers for call-off of components and packaging.
  • Create and manage vision data including stock codes, BOMs, stocking levels.
  • Coordinate all departments to ensure successful project launches.
  • Schedule production planning with the Planning team and manage day-to-day logistics.
  • Develop and maintain customer systems (SAP and Oracle).
  • Organise logistics and book vehicles for the warehouse.
  • Control purchase orders and ensure tight paperwork control.
  • Perform stock reconciliations and report results.
  • Participate in internal audits.

Due to continued growth our friendly team in St Helens have an exciting opportunity for a Supply Chain Planner to join their team on a full time permanent basis!

As a Supply Chain Planner you will work closely with existing customers and manage potential new businesses; liaise with other departments e.g. Production, Warehouse and Quality ensuring that customers’ expectations and demands are met to deadline.

Salary: £32,000-£36,000 per annum.

Working hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm.

Key Duties of a Supply Chain Planner:
  • Monitoring and ordering the stock of ingredients and packaging so that production may efficiently achieve customer requirements.
  • Expediting and delaying orders as required.
  • Communicating with customers to advise of any issues and manage their expectations accordingly.
  • Liaising with customers and suppliers for the call-off of free-issue components and packaging.
  • Creating and managing vision data, including stock codes, BOMs, stocking levels, etc.
  • Coordinating all departments to ensure new projects launch successfully.
  • Working closely with the Planning team to schedule the planning of production and manage the day to day matters affecting logistics.
  • Developing and maintaining customer third part systems, including SAP and Oracle.
  • Organising logistics and booking in vehicles for the warehouse as required.
  • Controlling purchase orders for goods and ensuring tight control of paperwork and procedures.
  • Performing stock reconciliations and stock balances, reporting results internally and to customers.
  • Active involvement in the process of internal auditing.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience within a similar role managing stock, etc.
  • Administrative experience within a fast-paced customer driven environment.
  • Proven knowledge in running/actioning MRP, planning, logistics and production supply.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, with a positive attitude.
  • Proactive and adaptable approach with the ability to work using own initiative.
  • PC literate with experience in MS Excel, along with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong understanding of the importance of providing high customer service standards.
