Supply Chain Planner

Hays is currently working with a large manufacturing business based in Shrewsbury, seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Supply Chain Planner to join their small, centralized procurement team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in supply chain operations who thrives in a dynamic environment and is eager to contribute to a growing business.

Your new role
As a Supply Chain Planner, your responsibilities will include:

1. Managing key supplier communications and order processes.
2. Maintaining accurate supplier and item master data.
3. Providing financial and administrative support to the procurement function.
4. Conducting demand planning and inventory management.
5. Reviewing, placing, and tracking stock and ad-hoc orders.
6. Processing supplier warranty claims and non-conformance reports.
7. Maintaining ERP system data for suppliers and items.
8. Coordinating foreign currency purchases and payments.
9. Reviewing order confirmations and supplier invoices.
10. Responding to internal business requests.
11. Supporting purchasing KPI reporting.

What you'll need to succeed

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar supply chain or procurement role.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (essential).
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.
• Experience with demand planning and inventory control software or practices (preferred).
• Highly organized with excellent time management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines independently or as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and data-driven decision-making.
