Job summary

Advanced Emergency Vehicles (AEV) is offering a Stores Apprentice role in the UK, focusing on warehouse operations, stock control and inventory management. You will learn on-the-job with our stores team and complete a college apprenticeship qualification.

Key training includes receiving and storing deliveries, picking materials for production, stock counting, and maintaining accurate records in our inventory system.

Qualifications

  • A genuine interest in warehousing, logistics or manufacturing.
  • Good basic literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Willingness to learn and complete the apprenticeship qualification.
  • Ability to undertake a physically active role involving lifting, bending and standing throughout the day.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, check and safely store incoming deliveries.
  • Pick and issue materials to production teams.
  • Replenish warehouse, lineside and electrical stock locations.
  • Assist with inventory control and stock counting activities.
  • Maintain accurate stock records using the company’s inventory management system.
  • Help identify and resolve stock shortages and material discrepancies.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised warehouse environment.
  • Support continuous improvement activities within the stores department.
  • Assist with waste management and general housekeeping.
  • Learn safe manual handling techniques and warehouse best practices.
  • Work with other departments to ensure materials are available when required.
  • Learn how to safely operate warehouse equipment (including Fork Lift Trucks, where appropriate and subject to age, training and certification).
  • Support deliveries and collections as required

Job description

This apprenticeship offers an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin a career in warehouse operations, logistics and inventory management. Working alongside an experienced stores team, the successful candidate will receive on-the-job training while completing a recognised apprenticeship qualification through college.

Throughout the apprenticeship, the successful candidate will be trained to:

  • Receive, check and safely store incoming deliveries
