Job summary

First Choice Wholesale Foods Ltd presents an apprentice vacancy for a Level 2 Supply Chain Warehouse Operative. You’ll learn receiving, storing and dispatching goods within a busy Midlands operation while gaining hands-on experience.

Working Monday to Friday, 08:30–16:30, the one-year programme offers paid training and progression, with two positions available and support from Juniper Training Limited.

• Training provided by Juniper Training Limited.
• Working week: Monday to Friday, 08:30–16:30.

About the Employer

First Choice opened its Cash & Carry in Burton upon Trent in 1980 serving local businesses and its own retail estate.

Delivering to our own stores soon showed that a delivery service would be a valuable service to offer other businesses allowing them to save money and time by not having to leave the business to source supplies.

In 1988 the Delivered Wholesale department was formed and since that time we have grown to become the midlands leading independent Delivered Wholesaler. We have also gained considerable experience in meeting the needs of caterers and retailers alike.

With over 100 years of experience of the delivered wholesale trade between us we have a detailed understanding of what is important to our customers. We are committed to providing the First Choice in service, an extensive product range, competitive pricing, promotions andfreedelivery.

Our background goes back to the 1960’s when the business was founded by Eddie Ainger, Arthur Taylor and Graham Ainger selling household products. The business soon expanded and a retail grocery shop was opened. The retail grocery business developed consistently with more stores being opened and in 1980 a Cash & Carry was opened.

Having recognised that the strength of the wholesale business is our delivery service we have focused on serving the needs of independent businesses through out the midlands. We offer free delivery and an extensive range of competitively priced products with regular promotions to catering and licenced trade customers.
