Job summary

Mytos is building automated cell manufacturing to scale therapies; you will own the supply chain for electromechanical automation systems and sterile consumables, driving down COGS and reducing lead times while ensuring GMP compliance.

Based at our White City site, the role requires hands-on leadership across purchasing, invoicing and inventory, with collaboration across manufacturing, finance and R&D; you’ll negotiate with suppliers, qualify alternatives and set demand planning in our ERP/MRP.

Qualifications

• 5 to 8+ years in procurement or supply chain, ideally in hardware, medtech or another regulated manufacturing setting.
• A track record of building or scaling a supply chain function.
• Cost-down programmes you've led and delivered.
• Hands-on experience qualifying and auditing suppliers and setting up quality agreements.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems.

About Us

We've developed fully-automated cell manufacturing sites, powered by custom robotics - to scale treatments to millions of patients. Last year, patients were cured of diseases like Parkinson's and vision loss using stem-cell derived cells - but today these Regenerative Medicines are produced by hand, meaning they're too expensive and hard to scale.

With our automated manufacturing sites, these therapies can now be scaled globally at low cost. We've announced partnerships across multiple therapies so far ranging from Parkinson's, to hearing loss, to bone repair - and raised $35m to expand into the market faster, and accelerate our development! Within the next 12 months, neurons grown on our machines will be going into Parkinson's patient brains.

We've assembled a world-class team to take on this challenge, with ex-Dyson engineers and Nature-published scientists working hand-in-hand. Mytos is backed by Y Combinator, the most successful startup program in the world which produced companies such as AirBnb, Dropbox, and Ginkgo Bioworks.

Responsibilities

• Building a supply chain that gives Mytos the ability to deliver accessible cures to patients. This includes lower COGS, shorter lead times, resilient supply, and a supplier base ready for GMP regulatory scrutiny.
• Working across two tech stacks: electromechanical automation systems with custom robotics, and sterile fluidic plastic consumables made to GMP standards. You'll own the supply chain for both.
• A foundational, hands‑on role setting strategy: who we buy from, what we pay, and how we plan for scale. This can span from negotiating a volume deal with a third‑party manufacturer to keeping on top of incoming orders to catch manufacturer delays early.
• You'll report to our Hardware Lead and work closely with manufacturing, biology, engineering, operations, quality and finance.
• Own purchasing, invoicing and inventory end to end, from requisition and PO through to goods‑in and invoice resolution.
• Find creative ways to remove unnecessary COGS through sourcing, negotiation, competitive tendering and make‑vs‑buy decisions.
• Qualify alternative suppliers and remove single‑source risk on critical components.
• Own our consumables supply chain and third‑party manufacturer relationship through GMP validation and into scaled production. This includes working with our engineering team on COCs, NCs and change notifications.
• Build on our ERP/MRP system and set up demand planning. Run supply and demand reviews with manufacturing, our in house teams, finance and sales, so we never run out.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times and Ts & Cs that protect our cash flow and our IP.
• Write clear decision documents and win buy‑in from finance and leadership on major purchases.

Qualifications

• 5 to 8+ years in procurement or supply chain, ideally in hardware, medtech or another regulated manufacturing setting.
• A track record of building or scaling a supply chain function.
• Cost‑down programmes you've led and delivered
• Hands‑on experience qualifying and auditing suppliers and setting up quality agreements.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
• A strong grasp of manufacturing economics: BOM cost, unit‑cost modelling and how sourcing choices affect COGS.
• Experience with demand planning and inventory strategy across best and worst case scenarios.
• The ability to influence decisions across manufacturing, finance and R&D, to control our supply chain risks
• A self‑starter who is as comfortable on the build floor as at the negotiating table.
• Startup experience.
• GMP or regulated supply chain experience, including COCs, NCs, approved supplier lists and change notifications.
• Experience managing a third‑party manufacturer, or in‑house production.
• Experience building a supplier risk framework and contingency plans for supply disruption.
• Awareness of export controls and shipping hardware internationally.

Location & Working Arrangement

• Full time role working with awesome colleagues and an office in the Imperial College Innovation hub in White City, where you’ll be based.
• Because of the hands on aspect of this role, we are unable to support remote‑first working and potential colleagues must be happy to work from our site.
