The Role


As a Supply Chain Manager, you’ll have a role that is out of the ordinary. You will be responsible for executing the cost-effective and timely delivery of procurement sourcing projects. You will need to develop new supplier relationships to meet QinetiQ’s future aspirations. This role requires knowledge of specific defence, engineering, and/or cyber domains and associated supply chains.

Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for driving sourcing processes, identifying risks and opportunities, and working collaboratively with key stakeholders within the business to execute the procurement strategy for various projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Developing strong relationships with key stakeholders to influence behaviors and ensure procurement involvement in sourcing activities
  2. Maintaining awareness of restrictions, controls, and accreditations on suppliers in a defence environment, ensuring sourcing strategies do not jeopardize compliance
  3. Collaborating with the Category Management Team to leverage existing supplier relationships and frameworks
  4. Ensuring compliance with procurement processes, governance, and controls as per the Procurement Code of Practice and Sourcing methodology
  5. Aligning plans with key stakeholders to meet targets, improve supplier performance, and implement continuous improvement across spend
  6. Sharing best practices and developing systems to help QinetiQ achieve top performance and consistency in sourcing activities

This role is 37 hours per week based at Bristol with hybrid working options.

Essential experience:

  1. Proven contract negotiation and stakeholder influencing skills
  2. Experience in the full sourcing process from design to execution

Essential qualifications:

  1. Degree in Business or Engineering, or equivalent experience
  2. CIPS Qualification or equivalent
