Job description

Our client, a leading defense company, is currently seeking a Supply Chain Lead to join their team on a contract basis.

Duties:

1. Support and negotiate all commercial, financial, quality, and schedule elements of contracts and any authorized changes in line with departmental procedures.
2. Proactively support and deliver effective supplier management and manage open order books in line with the project's integrated schedule.
3. Assist the Line Manager in delivering KPIs.
4. Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.
5. Identify risks, opportunities, and mitigation plans, and implement them accordingly.
6. Act as the primary point of contact with assigned suppliers and customers (internal/external).
7. Understand and adhere to the company's Export Control requirements.
8. Serve as the first point of escalation within the Supply Chain team.

Skills:

• Experience in Procurement / Supply Chain Department.
• Knowledge of commercial and contractual principles.
• Working understanding of toolsets and IT systems (SAP desirable but not essential).
• Experience and understanding of MRP.
• Working knowledge of Purchase to Pay processes.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively influence.
• Stakeholder management (internal) and Supplier Relationship Management (SRM).
