Supply Chain Coordinator

Salary: Up to £35,000 p.a. (DOE)

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Monday – Thursday 8.30am – 17.00pm

Friday 8.30am – 12.30pm

Next Generation have been appointed to recruitment for a Supply Chain Coordinator to work with an precision engineering business who supply into the Aerospace industry.

As the Supply Chain Coordinator you will be responsible for working closely with the Engineering department to understand customer requirements and build strategic relationships with Suppliers to fulfil these. Sourcing metals and other materials, quote evaluation, negotiation, purchase order maintenance, liaising with Suppliers, managing subcontract requirements and expediting, and invoice queries are all key aspects of the role.

Duties of the Supply Chain Coordinator

• Building, identifying and managing strategic, long-term relationships with Suppliers. Use of SRM tools such as scorecards, auditing and evaluation.
• Research new suppliers and make recommendations to the Supply Chain Manager. Based on the value that the supplier can add to the Supply Chain.
• Interface with all functions to prioritise supply activities. Highlighting any areas of risk or opportunities to stakeholders and implement actions to achieve efficiency.
• Evaluate quotes and secure advantageous terms, including pricing, delivery and quality.
• Raise Purchase Orders, Call Off orders and maintain in ERP system.
• Expediting of orders to ensure specified dates are met and the correct items and quantities are received. Communicate shortages / delays and work to resolve with the supplier.
• Updating and maintaining internal databases and ERP system with records of orders, deliveries, invoices, and contracts. Be integral in the development and further integration of ERP systems.
• Identify specifications and quality standards, review with engineering / quality and ensure all products meet the required standards. Ensure information is available for contract
• Review process and communicate any areas of risk.
• Preparation and evaluation of Tenders for services.
• Provision of reporting and analysis Budget vs Spend for indirect spend. Communication to the responsible managers and departments.
• Assist finance and Goods In to resolve receipt and invoice discrepancies.
• Support planning function for Raw Materials and Special Processes and ensure Material are ordered and managed to customer forecasts.
• Mentor and support other members of the Supply Chain Team.
• Maintain Approved Supplier List in line with procedure.
• Maintain waste management licenses / documents.

The successful candidate for the Supply Chain Managers position will have the following experience:

• 3 – 5 years’ experience as a Supply Chain Coordinator - (Essential)
• CIPS level 3 qualification – (Essential)
• Working with MRP Systems – (Essential)
• Awareness of compliance requirements relating to purchasing and stores operations – (Essential)
• Working within a Engineering or Manufacturing environment - (Essential)
