Job summary

Vectis Recruitment is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to join a leading engineering company in the West of England. You will manage supplier quality performance, conduct audits and capability reviews, and support supplier qualifications in line with AS9145.

The role requires experience in supplier development, 8D, RCA, FMEA and continuous improvement, with the ability to challenge suppliers and drive sustainable improvements across the supply chain.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Supplier Quality role.
• Understanding of aerospace standards and processes.
• Experience with 8D, RCA, FMEA, APQP and CI.
• Experience conducting supplier audits and managing corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop supplier quality performance.

• Ensure suppliers comply with relevant quality standards and customer requirements.

A leading engineering company with a strong reputation for innovation, technical excellence and advanced engineering solutions has a new vacancy for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join the team. A highly successful division operating separately from other global operations, this is a newly created position and will play a key role in maintaining and improving the quality and performance of the supply chain.

You will be responsible for managing supplier quality performance, ensuring that purchased components, materials and services meet expectations and supporting the development of the supply chain. Candidates are sought with proven supplier development experience and a good understanding of aerospace standards.

The Role

• Manage and develop supplier quality performance in line with company requirements and objectives.
• Conduct supplier audits, assessments and capability reviews.
• Support the qualification and approval of new suppliers.
• Lead supplier quality improvement and corrective action activities.
• Investigate supplier-related non-conformances and drive root cause analysis and effective corrective actions.
• Review supplier processes and ensure appropriate control plans and inspection standards are in place.
• Support PPAP activities in accordance to AS9145.
• Work collaboratively with Procurement and Engineering.
• Ensure suppliers comply with relevant quality standards, specifications and customer requirements.

The Person

• Previous experience in a Supplier Quality focused position.
• A good understanding of Aerospace standards and processes.
• Experience with 8D, root cause analysis, FMEA, APQP and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience conducting supplier audits and managing corrective actions.
• The confidence to challenge suppliers and drive sustainable improvements.
