The Supplier Development Leader enhances suppliers' performance and capabilities to meet the organisation’s quality, cost, delivery, and innovation requirements. This role involves collaborating with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives and foster strong supplier relationships.

How You’ll Make An Impact
Supplier Performance Management:
  • Monitor and analyse supplier performance metrics, including quality, delivery, and responsiveness.
  • Develop and implement performance improvement plans for underperforming suppliers.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to suppliers.
Continuous Improvement Initiatives:
  • Lead initiatives to enhance supplier capabilities and processes, focusing on lean manufacturing, Lean-Six Sigma, and other quality improvement methodologies.
  • Facilitate training and development programs for suppliers to improve their operational efficiency and product quality.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to identify and implement best practices.
Relationship Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to foster collaboration and trust.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for supplier-related issues and concerns.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to ensure favourable terms and conditions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with internal teams, including engineering, quality assurance, and production, to align supplier capabilities with organisational needs.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to develop sourcing strategies that leverage supplier strengths.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects to drive innovation and product development.
Risk Management:
  • Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor market trends and changes that may impact supplier performance and availability.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Reporting and Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate records of supplier performance, improvement initiatives, and audits.
  • Prepare and present reports on supplier performance and development activities to senior management.
  • Document processes and procedures related to supplier development.
