St Michael’s Catholic Primary School in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking a Supervisory Assistant Level 1 for lunchtime supervision. The role is 10 hours per week during term time, plus three training days, with a start date in September 2026.

Salary is BB02 £25,185 per annum pro rata (actual £5,778 per annum). The post includes a Living Wage supplement to raise the hourly rate to £13.435. Fixed term until 31 August 2027, with possibility of permanent appointment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pupils during lunch breaks and assist in maintaining orderly behaviour.
• Support school staff with lunchtime supervision duties as required.

Hours and Salary

This post attracts a Living Wage supplement. In addition to the hourly rate, this post will receive the Living Wage supplement to bring the hourly rate up to a minimum of £13.435 an hour.

Start Date and Contract

Required from September 2026. Fixed term until 31st August 2027 with the possibility of being made permanent.

Qualifications and Requirements

The Governors wish to appoint a Lunchtime Supervisory Assistant to start in September 2026.

The school is strongly committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Successful applicants will be required to obtain an enhanced certificate of disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service and a range of recruitment checks.
