Job summary

RTL Group Ltd is seeking an experienced Site Manager to run the structural steel erection package on a school project in North London. The role involves managing on-site activities from start to completion and coordinating with the main contractor to report progress against the programme.

The day rate is £220–£240, depending on experience. The successful candidate will oversee erections, craneage, lifting operations, and ensure works align with the erection sequence and temporary works design,

Qualifications

• Proven site management experience on structural steel erection.
• Experience with steel erection sequencing and safety.
• Certifications: SMSTS, CSCS (Gold/Black), First Aid at Work.
• SEATS training completed is preferred.
• NVQ in Steel Erecting or related trade background is advantageous.
• Understanding of temporary works and stability during erection.
• Good knowledge of CDM Regulations.

Responsibilities

• Daily management of steel erection works and erection gangs.
• Coordinate deliveries, craneage and lifting operations on site.
• Ensure works follow erection sequence and temporary works design.
• Manage site safety, inductions, briefings and permits.
• Work around school environment with safeguarding and site segregation.
• Provide progress reports, conduct quality checks and sign-off steelwork.

• Day-to-day management of the steel erection works and erection gangs
• Coordinating deliveries, craneage and lifting operations
• Ensuring works are carried out in line with the erection sequence and temporary works design
• Managing site safety, including inductions, briefings and permits
• Managing works around a school environment, including safeguarding and site segregation
• Progress reporting, quality checks and sign-off of completed steelwork

Requirements

• Proven Site Management experience on structural steel erection
• SEATS (Steel Erectors' Awareness Training Scheme)
• SMSTS, CSCS (Gold or Black) and First Aid at Work
• NVQ in Steel Erecting or a trade background in steel erection an advantage
• Working at height and lifting operations experience; Appointed Person or slinger/signaller awareness an advantage
• Understanding of temporary works and stability during erection
• Strong working knowledge of CDM Regulations
