Job summary

NORTH DEVON DISTRICT COUNCIL is recruiting a supervisor in the Operational Services team. You will provide managerial support and leadership across service delivery and report to the Operations Manager.

You will organise staff, plant and equipment, and deploy resources to deliver a customer-focused service, including supervision of refuse, recycling, toilet cleaning and street sweeping teams, addressing day-to-day operational issues.

Job description

The post holder is a member of a team of generic supervisors who deliver the overall managerial support and leadership across operational service delivery; reporting direct to the Operations Manager.

In particular, the postholder will have day to day responsibility for the organisation of staff/ plant and equipment and the deployment of the resources to provide customer focused service delivery.

To support the delivery of the aims and objectives contained the Operational Services Service Plan.

To provide supervision and technical support to all refuse, recycling collection, or toilet cleaning and street sweeping services staff for the purpose of maximising efficiency and effectiveness & dealing with operational issues which occur throughout the day.
