Job summary

Wates is seeking an experienced Supervisor to oversee responsive maintenance across Winchester, coordinating repairs and leading a multi-trade team to meet service, quality, and performance targets.

You will plan workloads, monitor KPIs, ensure safety compliance, handle customer concerns, and liaise with tenants and contractors while supporting workforce planning and continuous improvement; a DBS check is required at offer stage.

Qualifications

  • SSSTS certification is essential.
  • Experience supervising maintenance programmes.
  • Strong understanding of multiple trades (carpentry, plumbing, electrical).
  • Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Good knowledge of health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a team of multi-trade operatives, driving productivity, quality, and performance standards
  • Allocate workloads, manage priorities, and ensure resources are effectively utilised across the programme of works
  • Carry out site inspections and quality checks to ensure compliance with company standards and contractual requirements
  • Monitor progress against KPIs, identifying and addressing any risks to delivery
  • Ensure all work activities are completed in line with health and safety legislation and company procedures
  • Manage customer concerns and complaints, taking ownership through to resolution
  • Liaise with tenants, contractors, and internal departments to ensure effective communication and service delivery
  • Support workforce planning, performance reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Supervisor to oversee the delivery of responsive maintenance works across Winchester. This role is focused on planning, coordinating, and driving the successful completion of repairs while leading a team of multi-trade operatives to achieve service, quality, and performance targets.

You will play a key role in ensuring works are completed efficiently, resources are effectively managed, and customers receive a high standard of service.

  • Lead and support a team of multi-trade operatives, driving productivity, quality, and performance standards
  • Allocate workloads, manage priorities, and ensure resources are effectively utilised across the programme of works
  • Carry out site inspections and quality checks to ensure compliance with company standards and contractual requirements

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety requirements within a maintenance environment
  • Full UK driving licence
