About the role:

An Independent Fostering Agency (IFA) in Warwickshire is recruiting for a Supervising Social Worker (SSW) to join their team. This role involves supervising foster carers, addressing safeguarding concerns raised by children’s social workers, and providing emotional and practical support to foster families. SSWs are also responsible for recruiting and assessing new foster carers and delivering training before children are placed in care. Responsibilities:

• Maintaining communication with foster families, social workers, and children through home visits, phone calls, and regular updates.
• Coordinating support services such as therapy or learning assistance for children.
• Supporting foster carers with meetings, report writing, and record-keeping, and monitoring children’s progress in placements.
• Managing and maintaining contact between children and their birth families when appropriate, supporting foster carers in these interactions.
• Assessing foster carers’ training needs and guiding them to improve their skills and meet high standards of care.

Qualifications and Experience:

Applicants must have Social Work England registration, be eligible to work in the UK, hold a social work degree, and have post-qualification experience.
