Job summary

Charles Hunter Associates is seeking an Experienced Children's Senior Social Worker to join the Safeguarding Team in the London Area. You will work on safeguarding, child protection and public law matters, with complex casework and direct work with children and families.

You must have a Social Work qualification (Degree/DipSW/CQSW) and at least three years post-qualification experience with an English local authority. A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are required.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex safeguarding cases, undertake assessments, home visits and direct work with children.

• Supervise other safeguarding staff and contribute to team quality and mentorship.
• Manage Public Law Outline and Care Proceedings until final order and permanency plan.

Job description

We are looking for an Experienced Children's Senior Social Worker to join the Safeguarding Team within the London Area.

Do not apply if you do not have a Social Work qualification with a minimum 3 years permanent experience with an English local authority.

About the Team

Support children and their families who are subject to Child Protection plans and also progress and deliver longer-term plans with Families. This Team will also hold Public Law Outline (pre-proceedings) and Care Proceedings, retaining case responsibility until the final order is granted and a plan for permanency is agreed. The Senior Practitioner in the Safeguarding Team manages complex cases involving children, undertaking assessments, home visits, direct work, care planning, meetings and case recording and supervising other staff.

About you

Essential to have previous experience working in Safeguarding, Child Protection, Children in Need and R&A is key to this role, your application will be highly regarded. Social Workers must hold a Social Work qualification (Degree/DipSW/CQSW) and have a minimum of three years' post-qualifying experience. A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are also required.
