Job summary

Rising Stars Fostering Limited is seeking a dedicated Supervising Social Worker for a full-time, hybrid role in East London with two days per week at Stanmore. You will supervise foster carers, conduct visits, and provide professional guidance to support safeguarding and care planning.

Responsibilities include completing assessments, reports and statutory visits, liaising with Local Authorities, attending reviews, and advocating for children’s welfare.

Qualifications

• Professional social work qualification (BA or MA in Social Work) with registration.
• Minimum one year’s experience in fostering, looked-after children, or child protection social work, including supervising or supporting foster carers.
• Strong assessment, report-writing and care-planning skills, with the ability to manage caseloads and meet statutory deadlines.
• Effective communication and relationship-building with children, carers, colleagues and external professionals.
• Sound knowledge of safeguarding, fostering legislation, statutory guidance and regulatory frameworks.
• Ability to work on-site in London, travel for home visits and meetings, and work flexibly in a hybrid model.
• Commitment to anti-discriminatory practice, equality, diversity and trauma-informed, child-centred approaches.
• Competence in using case management systems, IT tools and maintaining accurate, confidential records.
• Experience delivering or supporting foster carer training is desirable.
• Enhanced background checks and references required prior to appointment.
