Job summary

Compass Bloom Mental Health Support Team seeks a Supervising Practitioner to guide a team delivering early intervention mental health support to children and young people. You will supervise colleagues, manage a small caseload and work directly with young people in school-based settings.

You will undertake a postgraduate Supervising Practitioner qualification, strengthening your leadership, safeguarding knowledge and reflective practice.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Education Mental Health Practitioner qualification with at least 2 years' experience.
  • Experience supervising others or mentoring in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of CBT-based approaches, especially in early intervention or school settings.
  • Clear, confident communication with various stakeholders including young people and professionals.
  • Solid grasp of safeguarding and risk management; able to respond calmly in uncertain situations.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical supervision, reflective spaces and day-to-day guidance to colleagues.
  • Hold a small caseload and work directly with young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties.
  • Embed good practice and support professional development and standards of care.
  • Collaborate with schools, Team Leaders and Compass team to drive quality and consistency.

Job description

Ready to use your expertise to guide and support a team delivering early intervention mental health support to children and young people?

As a Supervising Practitioner, you'll be part of our Compass Bloom Mental Health Support Team, working alongside schools to deliver evidence based interventions and promote whole school approaches to mental wellbeing, while ensuring practitioners feel supported and safe in their practice.

As part of this role, you`ll undertake a postgraduate Supervising Practitioner qualification. You`ll study alongside your role, developing the knowledge, skills and confidence to provide high quality clinical supervision.

You`ll hold a small caseload and work directly with young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties, while providing clinical supervision, reflective spaces and day to day guidance to colleagues. You`ll play an important role in embedding good practice, supporting professional development and maintaining high standards of care.

Working closely with schools, Team Leaders and the wider Compass team, you`ll help drive quality and consistency across the service, supporting practitioners and contributing to service development.

You`ll bring:

  • A Qualified Education Mental Health Practitioner qualification with at least 2 years` experience.
  • Experience supervising others or supporting colleagues in a leadership or mentorship role
  • Strong knowledge of CBT-based approaches , especially in early intervention or school settings
  • Clear, confident communication and the ability to work with a wide range of people – young people, families, schools, and professionals
  • A solid grasp of safeguarding and risk management , and a calm, measured way of responding when things feel uncertain
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

You might also bringPostgraduate Certificate in Supervision,training in low-intensity CBT, orexperience working in a skill-mixed teambut we`re more interested in theway you think, lead and show up for othersthan in ticking every box.
