Job summary

Marie Curie is seeking a Sunday Assistant to run the Dunmurry Store, handling daily operations, serving customers, managing stock, and ensuring the store looks its best. You will work loner in a small retail setting, prioritising customer care and compliance with charity guidelines.

The role covers duties from pricing and stock control to engaging the community and coaching volunteers to enhance customer experiences. 25 days leave, pension, and other benefits accompany the position.

Responsibilities

• Run the store and ensure daily operations run efficiently.
• Maximise sales through display, stock rotation and pricing.
• Process donated goods and ensure pricing aligns with guidelines.
• Maximise Gift Aid and oversee bought-in goods display and stock control.
• Engage customers and coach volunteers to improve conversations and donations.
• Engage with the community to drive repeat visits and volunteer recruitment.
• Manage volunteers and ensure adherence to Marie Curie procedures.
• Oversee overall store management and operations.

Job Description

You willbe responsible for:

Running the store and ensuring that daily operations run efficiently.

Maximisesalesbymaintaininghigh standardsof display and layout, ensuring proper stock rotation, and securing realistic pricing on donated items.

Ensuringdonated goods are processed according to set standards andtimeframes, and that pricing is in line with charity guidelines.

MaximisingGift Aid income and oversee the proper display and administration of bought-in goods, ensuring minimal stock loss.

Customer engagement and leading by coaching volunteers and staff to have great conversations with every customer on" Rounding up" their purchase, making an "add donation" for our charity and signing up for our loyalty scheme.

Engaging with the community to drive repeat custom, stock donation, volunteerrecruitmentand community involvement.

Managingvolunteers and ensuring allstaffand volunteers are followingMarie Curieprocedures and guidelines.

Takingresponsibility for the overall management and operation of thestore.

Key Criteria:

• Previousretail experience,preferably in fashion/clothing.
• Experience of cash handling andfinancial managementprocedures(including completion of sales records).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-first attitude and the ability to communicatewith tact and discretion,
• Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload, balancing competing demands.
• Understanding of health and safety procedures in a retail environment.
• Experience in managing and motivating volunteers is desirable.

Salary:£3,635.06, per annum+ benefits

In this role you will have sole responsibility for the running of the store, which will involve lone working. Due to this, we are unable to recruit anyone for this role who is under the age of 18.
