Kier Group is seeking a Summer Placement Construction Design Manager for the Birmingham region. This 8-week placement offers hands-on experience, mentorship, and exposure to coordinating design aspects from inception to completion. Start date September 2027; 40 hours weekly; pro rata salary shown.

Applicants must be able to work on site. You will support the design process, ensure timely drawings, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver clear, compliant designs.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating and managing the design process for construction projects.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors and clients to meet design specifications.
• Review drawings, plans and specifications for accuracy and standards compliance.
• Support development of design solutions aligned with project objectives, budget and timeline.
• Conduct site visits and use design software to create and manage plans.
