Job summary

Houlihan Lokey in the United Kingdom is seeking a Summer Financial Analyst to join the Financial Restructuring group. You will work on creditor- and debtor-side restructurings, distressed M&A, and debt and equity financings, gaining exposure to multiple advisory services and industries.

Responsibilities

Restructuring Summer Financial Analysts work specifically with the group, assisting with a variety of transactions, including creditor- and debtor-side restructurings and distressed M&A. The group offers a unique opportunity for Summer Financial Analysts to work on projects that provide exposure to various financial advisory and investment banking products and industries. These services include:

• Advising companies and stakeholders in out-of-court and in-court restructurings
• Raising debt and equity financings
• Providing distressed M&A advisory services
• Advising in special situations with elements of distressed investing
• Participating in complex negotiations on behalf of our client

Summer Financial Analysts are typically members of deal teams comprising at least one Managing Director, Vice president, Associate and Financial analyst.

• Must be in your penultimate year of study at a highly regarded university – completing your final university assessments in Spring or Summer 2028
• Strong academic track record
• Top academic performer and a quick learner capable of performing in an unstructured environment
• A demonstrated interest in restructuring
• Prior investment banking internship experience (M&A or an industry team), leverage finance or restructuring is desirable, but not essential
• Thorough understanding of valuation theory, methodologies and applications
• Strong quantitative, financial and analytical skills
• Strong LBO and DCF modelling skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• An exceptional strong work ethic
