A.F. Blakemore & Son Ltd is recruiting for a Subway Sandwich Artist and Food To Go Assistant at the Winthorpe Avenue SPAR store. The role involves delivering friendly, hands-on service, handling orders, and working as part of a small team with reporting to the Subway Duty Manager.

Candidates should be 18+ with availability across 6.30am–8.30pm, Sunday to Saturday, and a willingness to contribute to a fast-paced convenience store environment. Training and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

Must be 18+ years old.
Flexible to work across early mornings and evenings.
Previous experience in a similar role preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare sandwich ingredients and cookies/bread following guidelines.
Explain menu options accurately to customers.
Assemble sandwiches to order and restock ingredients.
Use the till to record orders and process payments.
Follow Subway, SPAR and company operating procedures and food safety standards.

Fully Flexible between 6.30am- 8.30pm Sunday-Saturday

We have an exciting opportunity for a 'Sandwich Artists' to work in the SUBWAY department within our Winthorpe Avenue SPAR store who enjoy having fun working as part of a small team. We are looking for someone who is motivated, friendly, hands-on. Reporting directly to the Subway Duty Manager, as a Sandwich Artist in our Subway, you will display exceptional customer service, greeting and interacting with our customers in helpful and friendly manner, creating a pleasant experience while completing orders.

Tasks/Responsibilities

Preparing of all sandwich ingredients, to include baking of cookies/bread and washing, cutting, slicing, chopping and grating of ingredients, in accordance with established guidelines.
Demonstrate a complete understanding of menu items and explain options to Subway customers accurately.
Neatly prepare sandwiches according to customer orders.
Re-stock sandwich ingredients to ensure a sufficient supply throughout the shift.
Use the till to record the order, take the payment and give correct change where necessary.
Understand and adhered to all Subway, SPAR and company operating processes, policies and procedures.
Adhere to all food handling, safety, and sanitation standards when storing/preparing/serving food and cleaning the department.

Key Skills/Knowledge

Previous experience in a similar role and/or industry is preferred
Some understanding of health and food safety legislative responsibilities in a food environment
Ability to contribute ideas for delivering exceptional customer service and driving the business at SPAR Winthorpe Avenue forward
Keen and enthusiastic approach to working both in a team and independently
