Substitute Teacher positions are available in all school buildings in the Newton Community School District. Full day or half day shifts are available. An online system allows you to pick jobs that match your availability.

Pay Rates

• Base Rate: Hourly $20
• 8 Hour Day: $160
• 4 hour Day: $80
• Long Term Rate begins on Day 21 of a consecutive day assignment for the same classroom – $25.98/hour. (Requires a Teacher or Substitute License.)

Application Procedure

Position Information

Substitute employees will be notified of available substitute assignments on an as-needed basis to fill in for absent staff. Hours and the frequency of assignments will vary depending on district staffing needs, employee absences, and the substitute's availability.
